Run-in period for In a manner of speaking, the National Index of Digital Domiciles, which has launched a new Public Administration and citizen communication system. Having become fully operational 6th July, INAD represents a new stage in the Italian Public Administration's digitisation process, which appears to be drawing ever closer to the citizens, thanks also to more rapid, simplified, and secure communication.
Already a month earlier, on June 6th, the digital domicile for citizens had been launched, meaning the possibility for any adult citizen with a PEC (certified email) address to elect their domicile on INAD (National Electronic Address Register).
From 6 July, the process will be completed, with the opportunity also for freelance professionals who carry out a profession not organised in orders, registers or colleges pursuant to Law no. 4/2013 and private law entities not required to register in INI-PEC to elect their digital domicile on INAD, and with the’operational start-up of the new communicative approach: from that date, in fact, Public Administrations can use the digital domicile entered in the index for all their legally binding communications, including tax refunds and tax deductions, assessments, and administrative penalty reports.
As of today, they can therefore elect their digital domicile by registering on INAD:
- the Individuals who have reached the age of eighteen and have the legal capacity to act;
- i Professionals who carry out a profession not organised into orders, registers or colleges pursuant to Law no. 4/2013;
- the private entities not obliged to register with INI-PEC.
required to access the INAD portal. free, free are any modifications, suspension of service and, to be highlighted, the Index consultationYes, because the register can be consulted by anyone – including other private citizens – without the need for authentication or any costs. All that is required is to enter the fiscal code of the person whose digital domicile you wish to know, and the system will provide all information, if it is present on the platform.
It is precisely the theme of costs which is one of the advantages of the new communication approach: by using the digital domicile, there is indeed a saving on postage costs incurred by more traditional communication methods, but also a substantial reduction in reception times – a notification of acknowledgement of receipt will suffice – and of the entire communication flow, benefiting both the public sector and the citizen.
