The Ministry for Ecological Transition has allocated €27 million to reduce plastic waste through the use of eco-compactors.
This contribution is recognised exclusively for the purchase of Eco-Compactors, machinery for the separate collection of PET beverage bottles, capable of reducing their volume to encourage recycling and sale to supply chain consortia, with a view to a circular economy.
Each municipality can receive a contribution of €15,000 for medium-capacity eco-compactors (under 30 kg capacity or 1000 1.5-litre bottles), or €30,000 for high-capacity eco-compactors (over 30 kg or 1000 1.5-litre bottles).
The contribution is also planned for the 2024 financial year, by sending an appropriate request via this site from 31 January to 31 March each year, it is necessary to have an SPID identity and the CUP code.
What is an ECO-COMPACTOR?
It's an’Smart Recycling Centre which, through a rewards mechanism managed via an app, incentivises citizens to correctly separate their waste, helping to reduce plastic pollution and consequently to limit its harmful effects on the environment.
It is able to quantify punctually everything that is delivered and, thanks to the PET compactor, to reduce its volume, thereby extending collection operations and optimising costs.
The Eco Compactor is a system that combines three types of products:
- The piece counter allows for the quantification of each item supplied, attributing it to each identified user.;
- The volume reducer is a system installed at the base of the one previously described, and its purpose is to reduce the volume by approximately 5 times, eliminating the elastic memory of the material, so as to prevent any rebound of the volume in the final collection container.;
- PET recognition is a system that, by reading the barcode, checks its compliance.
How does an ECO-COMPACTOR work?
The K-TARIP Information System The user is recognised by reading the health card/tax code or barcode, QR code or app, and a reader verifies the compliance of the PET bottle inserted into the designated slot. If compliant, it will slide into the compactor, which will reduce its volume, and it will be ready for subsequent deposit. Once the counting operation is complete, the door will automatically close, allowing the user to view their accumulated eco-points directly on the dedicated K-TARIP application.
How is the data from the ECO-COMPACTOR integrated with the TARI Software?
The K-TARIP IT System acquires and stores individual contributions, then makes them available for export and import into TARI invoicing management software.
