Catania, April 2025 – Sikuel – Maggioli Group’s booth, an IT company specialising in vertical solutions for the digital transformation of public utilities in water, environment, and bioenergy, announces its participation in Ecomed 2025 in Catania April 15-17, the Mediterranean Green Expo promoting sustainability and the circular economy.
Following recent Italian and international experiences of Ecomondo, Biogas Italia and Oman Climate Week, Sikuel announces at Ecomed, in his Sicily, the introduction of a new strategic asset for the environmental and energy transition, in addition to water and waste: the area dedicated to Biogas and biomethane supply chain.
Sikuel, in fact, puts to good use 30 years of experience working alongside public and private managers Water Service and Waste – for whom, precisely in Sicily, it is a supplier of IT solutions for water utilities in the provinces of Messina, Catania, Ragusa and Agrigento, and in over 250 municipalities in the region for waste management – and transfers its technological know-how to a new, rapidly growing industry.
The new solution, K-Biomet, is an integrated platform of web and mobile applications focused on sustainability certification, process digitalisation, and biomethane supply chain traceability.
“Participating in Ecomed means for us consolidating Sikuel's role as a strategic partner for the ecological transition of utilities. We are bringing to Catania not only our thirty years of experience in the water and environmental sectors, but also a vision projected towards the future, with innovative solutions for biomethane, artificial intelligence, and the digitisation of public services. Sicily is a strategic laboratory for change, and we want to be key players in this transformation.”comment Orazio Distefano, CEO of Sikuel.
For participation in ECOMED, there is no shortage of technological partnerships, such as the one with WAY, a leading company in telematics and IoT solutions for the advanced management of fleets, goods, and people on the move, and partner Dimma, specialising in on-board weighing systems. WAY will present the latest solutions for Advanced telematic video for road safety, I GPS devices for real-time fleet tracking and the technologies for data collection and processing, valuing the technological synergies developed with Dimma.
Thursday, April 17th, then, still within the framework of Ecomed, Sikuel will participate in a Conference on environment, waste, and health, with the intervention “Pay-as-you-throw waste charging: methods and technologies for effective and sustainable separate collection”, edited by Gaetano Guastella, waste management technology expert and Marketing Manager at Sikuel. The event is jointly organised by the CATANIA 2030 Committees, the Interdisciplinary Committee Waste and Health (CIRS), the Rotary District 2110 Sicily and Malta, the University of Catania (DIIEI, CUTGANA), Aidic Sicily, and AIAT.
Sikuel will be at Ecomed in Pavilion C1 – Stand 9/10.
