A new and important project for the application has begun. of pay-as-you-throw waste charges and related services in 15 Municipalities of Eco-District 1 of the SRR Messina Province. The collaboration involves the supply of K-TARIP as an integrated system with TARI management software, the urban hygiene service provider, and citizens.
A forward-thinking vision for the environment and citizens
SRR Messina Provincia has distinguished itself by a A strategic and well-planned approach. From the outset, it clearly defined the project's target recipients: municipalities, service operators, and citizens, choosing to focus on interconnections between them for an overall improvement of the service. This has made it possible to identify the most suitable technologies for:

- Improving economic and environmental performance
- To offer a simplified and transparent experience to citizens
But how do these requirements tie in with our experience and our K-TARIP solution?
Innovations for each recipient
To effectively respond to the needs of the various stakeholders involved, we have designed a a flexible, bespoke solution, capable of delivering tangible and personalised benefits for each recipient.
- The MunicipalitiesK-TARIP guarantees a perfect integration with existing TARI management systems, facilitating the migration and management of databases. This reduces the time and risks involved in the service launch phase and enables more accurate management of pricing information.
- The manager: the system allows for full digitisation of the waste sorting service, integrating data from door-to-door collections, recycling points and collection centres. It also includes map-based planning, bin management and staff training, making every activity more efficient and traceable.
- Citizensthanks to the’App dedicated and to the portal, every user can access personalised information about their account, view collection schedules, submit reports, book special collections, and even manage payments and bills online, ensuring a streamlined and transparent experience, in accordance with ARERA regulations.
K-TARIP is in fact designed to meet the requirements set by the Resolution 15/22, which focuses on the quality and transparency of the waste management service. Our system guarantees:
- full traceability of contributions per individual user;
- the utmost transparency via the city portal and the app, which provide access to user information, including details on payments and recycling rewards;
- continuous and reliable monitoring of the data collected, which is essential for optimising the service and accurately determining the rates.
How SRR will use the data collected
The information collected by the system K-TARIP will enable SRR to gain a clear and detailed overview of waste generation for each individual user. This approach makes it possible to:
- develop a pay-as-you-go pricing scheme, by calculating fair costs based on actual waste generation;
- monitor environmental performance of the municipalities, identifying any critical issues;
- encourage virtuous behaviour by members of the public, thanks to reward schemes and data transparency.
The added value of collaboration
In addition to providing the software, Sikuel will support SRR in defining point-to-point tariffs, in public awareness campaigns for citizens, and in training all involved personnel. This integrated approach ensures the success of the project, not only in technical terms but also in educational and social ones.
