Control Room: a new digital offering for smart cities by Sikuel

The digital offering for smart cities is growing; within Sikuel, a company of the Maggioli Group, the Control Room has arrived, a new tool for the digitalisation of urban services available to Public Administrations and managers to offer higher quality control.

Control Room: what it is and what advantages it offers

The Control Room presents itself as the tool for completing the digital solutions offered to PAs and public service operators, which leverages the visualisation de données and location intelligence to ensure a ever-smarter management and prompt service.

The technology behind the Control Room is, in fact, the acquisition of data from different sources, their spreadsheet processing and the next 3D mapping interactive and easy to consult.

It is possible to connect IoT devices for remote reading of water consumption; wireless aerials and wristbands for identifying containers for door-to-door collection; On Board Units for on-board telemetry and real-time vehicle location; fill-level sensors; and energy consumption.

A platform that provides a real-time snapshot of the entire system's progress and becomes a duplicate valuable resource, whether as Analysis assets of the current situation, both as predictive support for future decisions, with a view to qualitative, managerial and economic improvement of the service.

In the case of, for example, water utility management, the Control Room offers a real-time overview of the operation of remotely monitored water meters, highlighting any leaks or suspicious consumption at the corresponding map point where the user is located. All this is achieved through a quick and constantly updated graphical representation.

Several advantages:

  • the data visualisation process allows us to say goodbye to the excessive and fragmented mass of data recorded by management software, returning a clearer and more intuitive picture of the entire process at play. Considering the resulting fluidity of the decision-making process, once the burdensome data processing and difficult analytical interpretations are abandoned;

  • en public service management even smarter thanks to a data-driven process more realistic and constantly updated;

  • more effective and efficient management, also in terms of wastereal-time monitoring allows for the immediate identification of any malfunctions and, therefore, for timely intervention on leaks or anomalies;

  • the possibility of personalise dashboards or system movements to analyse and therefore display on a map, through a specific selection of data to be examined;

  • an overall improvement in quality of service offered to users, thanks to more precise and predictive management.

  • more transparent management of the service, in line with an approach of Citizen relationship management, giving the user the ability to monitor certain aspects of the system through a Control Room viewable via an app.

Control Room: support for water management, environmental hygiene, and more.
