During the press conference held on 14 February 2020 at Palazzo Zanca in Messina, the first results of the services announced in recent months by AMAM for the management of the Integrated Water Service of the city were presented in detail.
Mayor Cateno De Luca and AMAM SpA President Salvo Puccio, together with members Roberto Cicala and Loredana Bonasera, have defined new technologies and new services – Necessary to enable AMAM's (Azienda Meridionale Acque Messina) administrative machinery to grow in efficiency and transparency towards its citizens, but also in simplification and full adherence to ARERA regulations. –
New services available:
- Meter reading via the K-Reader App
- Payments via the Citizen Online Portal
- Invoices and Bills always available
- Online Reports
“I like to think – as highlighted by the Deputy Mayor of Messina, Salvatore Mondello, during the press conference for its presentation last November – And that all these innovations may have interesting repercussions for the citizen. While on the one hand we have wanted to penalise the user in terms of regularity, on the other hand, with these new services, we are raising the organisational level, which can improve dialogue within a relatively compact timeframe. Often the main problem is a lack of correct communication and, without a proper channel of transmission, a short circuit and malfunction occur, to which are also added bad habits and a lack of attention towards public matters.”.
So, with the’K-Reader App For iOS and Android, developed by Sikuel – a company in the Maggioli Group – since last January, Messina citizens have been experiencing the convenience of interacting through a multimedia application, providing photo-readings of their water consumption with a simple and intuitive procedure.
“We announced it and we have achieved it – stated AMAM President, Salvo Puccio – Self-reading via the smartphone app is part of the suite of Telematic Management Systems which, although requiring inevitable effort to get up and running, will soon reveal all the advantages of simplifying internal administrative procedures, as well as offering great convenience for our users to carry out simple operations, even from home, for which it was once necessary to go to AMAM's counters.”.
The use of the’K-Reader Application for meter self-reading allows the user to always receive the bill in line with actual consumption.
You will simply need to register by entering your phone number and your tax code, scan the QR code on the last bill (entering the code indicated on your AMAM invoice), enter the consumption value shown, and take a photo of the meter.
The user will receive a notification when it has been sent and another when consumption has been certified by AMAM.
For bill payments, the service is active Citizen Online Portal within the AMAM website accessible at the address http://portale.amam.it. The user will be able to use here electronic payment methods such as PagoPA to pay your water bills, as well as view your updated account statement or download a lost invoice or an unpaid bill. The service is available 24 hours a day and accessible from your computer or mobile device on any day of the week, including public holidays.
The portal, developed by Sikuel, is also a useful tool for requesting commercial assistance, additional services such as name changes, or sending reports through the ticket section.
This will also benefit public bodies, as they will be able to recover payments much more easily and quickly.
